Chandra's Thoughts on Attempting Change: Teachers Moving from Writing Project to Classroom Practice By David E. Wilson
I have found quite the pearl on this treasure hunt. This book was amazing! A must read. I think I have the start of my "professional piece" that we will share at our retreat.

Suzanne's Thoughts on Writing Intentions: Prompting Professional Learning through Student Work by MRA and NWP-M. A wonderful book full of short essays on classroom practices such as looking carefully at student work, holding writing conferences, using portfolio assessment, writing non-fiction reports in the primary grades, poetry for adolescents, and more.

Jaime and Kristin's Thoughts on Motivating Writing in Middle School compiled by the National Council of Teachers of English and About the Authors by Katie Wood Ray. The first is a short book of compiled middle school writing lessons that have previously been published in NCTE journals. The second is about teaching young children to write. The goal of this book is to have people realize "no matter what, let them write every day."

I read through "About the Authors' by katie Wood Ray. The chapters that interested me most were about mini-lessons and writing conferences. I didn't find a whole lot of new information but it's always good to review.
